Find instructions on opening your sign's vandal cover, calculating your sign message, ordering replacement parts, and more.
Operation
If your changeable letter sign came equipped with a vandal cover, you will need to unlock it before changing your sign's message. When the sign is shipped to you, the vandal cover key is affixed to the vandal cover arm. Remove this key and keep it in a safe location for use with your sign.
The locks are the small holes located at the bottom of the vandal cover. To unlock the vandal cover, insert the key and turn it one quarter turn in each lock. Lift up the vandal cover making sure that both ends of the cover rise evenly. The cover will lock into place and stay at approximately 90 degrees.
Change your letters by pushing them into the top piece of tracking and having them drop down into the bottom track. To make sure your letters are positioned correctly, the small black "S" on each letter should be at the top right. To close your vandal cover, lift UP on the cover so that both ends rise evenly. The arm locking mechanism will release, allowing you to close the cover. Use the key to lock your sign.
The Sign Letter Calculator allows you to calculate the difference between your existing and new sign message. You will then know which letters to add and remove from each side to create your new message.

Changeable Letters
Our letters are injection molded with 0.08" thick high-impact acrylic. This heavy-duty construction prevents warping and keeps the letter in place under most wind conditions.
Each letter is molded with a small raised edge that prevents the screen-printed ink from being scratched. The molded-in feet keep debris and ice from interfering with letter placement. Available as full letter sets from our Online Store.
Word Panels
Our Word Panels allow for the easy changing and moving of text on your sign. Made from the same 0.08" thick high-impact acrylic as our letters, word panels are custom screen-printed and saw-cut to your specifications. Available in one or two lines of text.
Word panels can be ordered through the Word Panel Order Form. Due to the differences between manufacturers, you must be a Stewart Signs customer to order our Word Panels.
Letter Storage Cases
Our letter storage cases are designed to comfortably hold three complete letter sets of over 500 letters.
Made from injection molded black plastic, this case will keep your letters organized and looking great for years to come. Cases are available in multiple sizes from our Online Store.
Vandal Cover Keys
Replacement vandal cover keys for Stewart Signs changeable letter signs are available for a fee from our Support Department. These keys allow the cover over the letters to be opened from the bottom.
Please contact us to order a replacement key. Your sign information will be verified before the key is sent.
